This article deals with determining of mechanical properties of materials used for manufacturing of surgical joint replacements. The wear resistance is one evaluating parameter. The volume of the wear track on the disc was calculated (as a measure) for assigned combination of materials – ring from titanium alloy with DLC coat and disc from UHMWPE. The test was carried out at the Mechanical Testing Laboratory according to international standard ISO 6474:1994(E).
