The deformation stress state theory DSS and the fracture theory DSSf
Skokánek J.
pages 281 - +10p., full text

The stress state of elastic bodies is expressed by the stress tensor comprising nine components. A single stress tensor component does not express the stress state, does not depend directly on the relative elongation in its direction and cannot become the criterion of fracture origin, either, as assumed erroneously by most hypothesis of defect origin. The deformation stress state (DSS) theory is based on the atomic structure of solids. 0n the basis of this assumption a new quantity of deformation stress is defined - the deformation stress, linearly dependent on the relative elongation in every direction. The DSS theory is the basis of a fracture theory (DSSf) which enables to solve successfully the problems of strength and safety margin of mttltiaxially stressed bodies.
