Computational modelling of smooth muscle cells
Burša J., Janíček P., Lebiš R.
pages 69 - +12p., full text

The paper deals with problems related to computational modelling of stress-strain states in vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Problems of their structure, geometry, constitutive models, initial (stress-free) state, mechanical couplings to each other and to the extracellular matrix are analyzed. Results of a computational simulation of tension test of a SMC are presented. Perspectives, assumptions and limitations of computational modelling of SMCs under physiological load are discussed.
