This paper deals with the structural and material analysis of ceramic matrix composites. Especially composite systems with plain weave textile reinforcement, where attention is paid to the design of an idealized geometric model based on a statistically equivalent periodic unit cell and the verification of homogenization procedures used for the determination of effective elastic properties, which were solved by the Mori-Tanaka scheme and the finite element method. The results were then compared with experimental measurements.
