Presentations
Oral presentations
Each oral presentation is allocated 20 minutes. We recommend that you will take about 16 minutes for your presentation and leave around 3 mins of Q&A and 1 min for change over. As a courtesy to the presenters scheduled before and after you, it is essential to adhere to your time allocation. All lecture rooms will be equipped with a computer, a video projector and a pointing device. Each computer will have Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. You may also use your own computer for your presentation, however, the changing time will be deduced from your time slot (both begin and end). Thus, it is very advisable not to use this option.
Our experience indicates that up to 15 slides is optimal, allowing 1 minute per slide. You may choose to use more than 15 slides, but please be sure to complete your presentation within the allocated 20 minutes.
To avoid incompatibilities, please use only default fonts (times new roman, arial, tahoma, etc.) or embed all fonts to your PDF/PPT file. Please make sure all media objects in your presentation are embedded and not linked. If you use videos in your presentation, please check which codec was used to create the video file. Only standard video codecs will be installed. Please test your presentation on a different computer that is not part of your immediate workgroup and that does not have your specialized software installed to ensure that your videos work properly.
The official languages of the conference are Czech, Slovak and English. No simultaneous translation is provided. Speakers are kindly asked to present in English if there is someone in the audience who does not understand Czech or Slovak.
Posters
The area for the poster session is reserved in the hotel lobby starting Tuesday afternoon. For every paper announced for the poster session, a particular panel of ca. 0.9x1.2m (i.e., A0 format) is assigned.
The authors of the individual posters can register for the competition for the Prize of the Managing Director of the ŽĎAS Company. The only condition is that the authors will be personally present at the announcement ceremony on Wednesday evening at 18:00, before the Conference Dinner. The authors are asked to dismount kindly their posters by Wednesday evening.
