The paper presents a simple non-linear model of a Diesel engine based on producer's catalogue data and on thermodynamic calculations of static torque-ta-speed characteristics of the engine. A speed-dependent feedback loop was added to that model to make possible to simulate various operation conditions of an electric generating aggregate.
