Besides chemical factors, those of a physical nature are considered today as also being capable of influencing negatively the progress of arteriosclerosis, for example, those connected with shear strain concentrations see for example the point of stagnation and separation of flow. These consideration represents one of the reason for the evaluation of the extend of the hydrodynamic effects with respect to formation and progress of atherosclerotic changes with the cardiovascular system.
