Using hypotheses for calculating fatigue lives of parts exposed to combined random loads

pages 16 - +9p., full text

The contribution deals with a complicated problem of fatigue damage of structure parts, which are loaded by a combination of random forces in tension-pressure and moments in torque. An attempt for estimating the total damage is made. It is based on an application of a virtual damaging stress. The damage is evaluated by means of the hypotheses of Palmgren-Miner and Corten-Dolan, which are applied to a rain-flow-like sequence of a resulting stress.
