The paper describes development and design of slitting shear of wide plate mill. For good understanding of shear behavior, distribution of forces and torques, mathematical models were prepared. Model out put data together with geometric data were used for FEM analysis of shear. Pointed out is also necessity to avoid most of problems and mistakes during engineering process.
