FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS DYNAMICAL MODEL OF VVER 1000 NUCLEAR REACTOR CONTROL ROD DRIVE
Markov P., Svoboda V.
pages 177 - +12p., full text

The presented poster deals with the Finite Element Analysis dynamical model of VVER 1000 nuclear reactor control rod drive (LKP-M/3). It describes the setting up of the calculation model supported by the CAD program I_DEAS as well as the construction of its boundary and initial conditions together with loading conditions specification at normal operation. The LKP-M/3 model consists of five principal parts that are slidingly supported in radial direction with one another while lengthwise they are subject to the elastic or free connection with stops that limit their relative motion. In addition, for each part, frequency-modal properties were computed using COSMOS/M environment that are important for subsequent dynamical analysis. The COSMOS/M calculation provided also the response to the excitation due to driving electro-magnets, mutual shocks between the facing parts, and the gravity. Having done this, we get the possibility to compute the trends in displacements, velocities, and accelerations in a particular part. Furthermore a procedure is described for establishing the peak stress in each part in the course of LKP-M/3 action. The procedure was applied to the calculation preliminary time-step, lift, and lowering time-steps and some of their combinations.
