This paper describes the mechanical structure of the yarn package body. Based on the theory of elasticity and strength the study has resulted in an original solution and deduction of the individual components of the internal mechanical structure of the cylindrical body of a crosswound yarn package. The approach is characterised by an internal anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the yarn package body. Thus the basic solution has been extended by the solution based on the elasticity and strength of an anisotropic body.
